Hi,
Recently I have been active on some of the more entertaining skeptic forums and something kept on raising it's ugly head. No it wasn't that overzealous admin poster who always has to apologise for being wrong, it was the incredible distance between the believers and the skeptics.
I began to check out some of the paranormal claims that were so common and came to a few very simple conclusions;
1. The believers will not be discouraged
2. The skeptics will not be discouraged
3. If certain undocumented abilities exist, they are extremely hard to document scientifically.
4. There are Millions of dollars to be had if you can display these "abilities"
5. If you shout down the leader at any of these forums, you will be banned.
And so the reason for this blog...
I went through some of the more dubious claims, the PK, the UFO conspiracies (neat hats though....), the communicating with "spirits" and finally came up with one that could be tested in a very straightforward method.
Remote Viewing.
The skeptics tell us that it is nothing more than imagination, delusion and coincidence. The believers have a variety of opinions from a "matrix" theory to Clairvoyance.
Never having been one to take someones word as gospel until I had proved it myself, I decided to go through the training and settle this once and for all (if only for myself...).
So it begins.
I have purchased a 4 DVD set of training in Remote viewing.
I will follow protocol to the letter and practice as much as necessary.
As a primer, I have borrowed all the books on the subject from our community libraries (the looks I got were priceless !!).
All training efforts and results will be recorded on this blog.
Why ?
Well, if there is nothing there, I'm not about to look stupid by claiming there is ! I will fully document all my attempts ect and allow the skeptics to use it as a test case.
If there is something there, I will entrust my local newspaper with testing this "ability" and go from there. Again, I will document my attempts and allow the believers to use it as a test case.
And I'll be more than happy to apply for some of the prize money to prove it :)
Here comes Fun !!
Rachel.
